Frequently asked questions.
What type of therapy do you practice?
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist. This type of therapy helps individuals and couples gain a deeper awareness of patterns that might be causing distress in their lives. This work helps people empower themselves to live in a more authentic way. There are supportive techniques, along with uncovering deeper meaning behind one’s behaviours, thoughts, and actions. Then we are able to find new and healthier ways of coping and thinking.
Do you work with couples and individuals?
Yes! I work with clients individually, and I also work with couples. My couple's work is a little different as I am accommodating two people in the space. My sessions are 70 minutes instead of the traditional 50-minute sessions with individuals. I have more information on my approach to working with couples on a separate page.
How long does therapy take?
This question is very individual and varies for each person. For some, they require therapy for 10-15 sessions to address certain challenges, while for others, therapy can be for many years. Therapy is personal and takes as much time as needed.
What are your fees?
For individual clients, my fee is $130, and for couples, my fee is $170. However, I believe that therapy should be accessible to all, and I do offer some sliding scale options for individuals and couples who need them. For cancellations, I require 24-hours notice, or a full fee is charged for the missed session.
