My Approach to couples work

I have taken training workshops in using the Gottman Method, along with studying the approach using Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT)

The Gottman Method helps each couple identify their specific patterns and teaches evidence-based strategies to rebuild trust, express needs, and reconnect meaningfully.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) focuses on restructuring emotional experiences and changing interactions to create more secure emotional attachments between partners. The approach includes three stages:

1- Emotional Safety - Identify patterns of disconnection in your relationship and learn new tools you can use to de-escalate these patterns.

2- Healing and Connection - Work on repairing the foundation of your relationship to promote healing and connection.

3- Moving Forward - Integrate what you've learned to move forward, together.

I know that starting couples therapy can feel scary, but I am here to help make that first big step a little easier. My approach is collaborative, and I believe that you can improve communication, unpack unresolved issues, and find a deeper connection with each other through empathy and understanding.

It is so important that each partner feels comfortable with their therapist. That is why I offer a free 30-minute consultation to ensure everyone feels like it’s a good fit.

Let’s start our work together, it would be an honour.
